About Ferrous Sulphate
What is Ferrous Sulphate?
Ferrous sulfate, also known as iron(II) sulfate or iron vitriol, is a chemical compound composed of iron, sulfur, and oxygen. It is a pale green or blue-green crystalline solid that is highly soluble in water. Ferrous sulfate can be prepared by the reaction of iron with sulfuric acid.
Ferrous sulfate has several applications and is commonly used in various fields. Here are some key uses of ferrous sulfate:
1). Nutritional Supplement: Ferrous sulfate is widely used as a nutritional supplement to treat and prevent iron deficiency anemia. It provides a source of iron, which is an essential mineral for the production of red blood cells and the transport of oxygen throughout the body.
2). Water Treatment: Ferrous sulfate is used in water treatment processes, particularly for the removal of excessive levels of phosphates. It acts as a coagulant and helps to precipitate phosphates, reducing their concentration in water bodies.
3). Fertilizer: Ferrous sulfate is used as a fertilizer to supply iron to plants. Iron is an important micronutrient for plant growth and is necessary for the synthesis of chlorophyll.
4). Pigment and Dye Production: Ferrous sulfate is used in the production of pigments and dyes. It can be used to create colors ranging from pale yellow to deep brown or black, depending on the application.
5). Watercolor and Ink Production: Ferrous sulfate is used in the production of watercolor paints and inks. It is used as a colorant and as a mordant to fix the color to paper or fabric.
6). Laboratory and Analytical Applications: Ferrous sulfate is used in various laboratory and analytical applications. It is used as a reducing agent in chemical reactions, as a standard for colorimetric analysis, and as a reagent in various tests and assays.
It’s important to note that ferrous sulfate can cause skin and eye irritation and should be handled with care. Additionally, it is essential to follow recommended dosage guidelines when using ferrous sulfate as a nutritional supplement, as excessive intake can be harmful. Consulting a healthcare professional is advised for proper guidance on iron supplementation.
Trade Process
Our trade process spreads across CIF, FOB, TTO, and TTT, depending on the buyer’s preference.
Here’s what they entail:
1). Cost Insurance and Freight (CIF): Here, the seller will handle everything from loading the vessel, paying for insurance, and sending the product to wherever the buyer wants it delivered.
2). Freight On Board (FOB): Here, the seller pays for the transportation of the goods to the port of shipment, plus loading costs, while the buyer pays the cost of marine freight transport, insurance, unloading, and transportation from the originating port to the final destination.
3). Tanker Take Over (TTO): Here, the buyer will take over the vessel, offload the product at their destination, and return it.
4). Tanker To Tanker (TTT): Here, the buyer uses their own vessel, long sides with the seller’s vessel, and then the cargo is transshipped when the transaction is fully settled.
